    Report: Obama’s gas-mileage boost will save $69B a year

    By TODD SPANGLER USA Today April 20, 2012 An environmental group released a report that predicts drivers will save an aggregate of $69 billion a year in fuel costs by 2030 because of new gas-mileage standards in cars. The Natural Resources Defense Council’s report called “Relieving Pain at the Pump” says Americans facing higher gasoline prices are already availing themselves of more fuel-efficient vehicles available as higher miles-per-gallon standards have begun to kick in.     Green Car Congress April 5, 2012 Automakers will likely make billions more dollars in profits under proposed new national gas mileage and emissions standards that will be finalized later this summer, according to a new report produced by Citi Investment Research and Analysis in collaboration with Ceres and the Investor Network on Climate Risk; Oakland University’s School of Business Administration; Baum and Associates; and Meszler Engineering Services.
