DETROIT, MI — A report released today by three U.S. environmental organizations seeks to connect growth in the auto industry to higher fuel economy standards being implemented by the federal government.
“Thanks in large part to a renewed focus on fuel efficiency, 35,000 more Michigan auto workers are back to work,” Ryan Werder, campaigns director for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, said in a release for the report, found on the drivinggrowth.org website. The website is sponsored by The Natural Resources Defense Council, the National Wildlife Federation and the Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund.
