Nexteer to put $70M into Saginaw site

Nexteer Automotive said Friday it will invest about $70 million into its Saginaw County operations and hire an additional 325 workers starting in early 2014, after it secured a new long-term contract with one of Detroit’s Big Three automakers…

The supplier has been in growth mode, booking $12 billion in new business over the past 30 months. Automakers are turning to electric power steering to help boost fuel economy. The technology can add up to a 6 percent improvement, according to Nexteer.
