Volkswagen has a lot to be happy about these days. The German automaker has invested $4 billion into its U.S. operations, including the Chattanooga plant that opened last year, and now an eco-friendly research and development center located in Oxnard, California.

Engineers will focus on reducing emissions and meeting federal standards for Volkswagen’s clean diesels and hybrids.
