GM’s Reuss: Electrification of auto industry is inevitable

DETROIT, MI – It could be said that General Motors is doubling down on the electrification of the automobile, if not for the fact that such a change in the industry is inevitable…

Reuss said the transformation may take longer than some expect, which is why further refining internal combustion engines is also a necessity, he said, noting that turbos have been adjusted on the Chevy Cruze engine and additional speeds are being added to transmissions to improve fuel economy.
Nevertheless, he said, “Electrification in fact is inevitable.”
