Fuel rules drive move to light vehicles

Automakers are turning to lighter materials and innovative engineering to build cars that weigh less. Reducing the weight of cars is every bit as important as developing gas-thrifty engines, as automakers try to meet government standards of 54.5 miles per gallon across their fleets by 2025.
