Cummins Inc. says it’s making progress in developing a new “super truck” that gulps 50 percent less fuel than typical long-haul tractor-trailers.
The truck, designed with Peterbilt Motors Co. and other partners, averaged 9.9 miles a gallon in road tests last fall in Texas, the Indiana heavy-duty engine maker announced today.
