Chrysler Group’s $374 million investment in Indiana is geared to gears: new added-speed transmissions that the company hopes will improve the driving experience for its customers and save them money on fuel.
Chrysler has spent the past two years intensively researching and designing an eight-speed and a nine-speed automatic transmission, both of which will be made in Indiana, where the automaker has concentrated its production of transmissions.
