Chrysler has enough confidence in its 2013 Ram 1500 and resurgent pickup truck sales that it is considering the addition of a third shift at its Warren Truck Plant…
Production of the upgraded Ram 1500 — which will have a new engine, transmission and stop-start technology — is expected to begin in September at the Warren plant.
Chrysler employs more than 2,300 workers at the 74-year-old plant. Typically when Chrysler adds a shift at a plant, it creates 800 to 1,000 additional jobs. Chrysler has been adding third shifts at a number of its plants in North America as its sales and market share have increased.
