Automakers roll out the high-mpgs

…As the original CAFE standard did in the ’70s and ’80s, the new requirements will spark technology and create jobs in the automotive sector. Unlike before, automakers didn’t really rebel because everybody is playing by the same set of rules and the rise in showroom prices is offset by fuel savings.
