Consumer Reports, June 13 2013 Consumers who buy the fuel-efficient new cars that will roll out to meet tough new fuel economy standards will save thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicles, according to a new report released today by Consumer Reports. Fuel savings will more than offset any additional price increase for the new technology required to meet the more stringent standards. LG Chem to begin battery production in July

Associated Press, May 6 2013 HOLLAND — An advanced battery maker said it plans to launch commercial production of automotive lithium-ion battery cells in western Michigan in July. LG Chem Michigan, a subsidiary of South Korean company LG Chem, announced Sunday that test runs have begun at the facility in Holland and that it anticipates shipping products by the end of the summer.
