Chrysler exec’s advice to CEO Sergio Marchionne pays off for autoworkers, company

KOKOMO, Ind. — If it wasn’t for Brian Harlow, Chrysler’s Kokomo Transmission Plant might not exist anymore.

In 2009, about 643,000 square feet of the company’s 3-million-square-foot plant in Kokomo, Ind., had been dormant for several years.

“The plant was going to close,” Harlow said. “That was the plan.”
